Data Lead

A new Data Lead job has recently become available at a renowned food and beverage organisation based in Kuala Lumpur.

About this Data Lead Role:
As the Data Lead, you will lead a small team of consultants executing on the cloud data transition in Azure, whilst ensuring data quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement data migration to Azure Data Lake
• Lead and coordinate our Data Engineer consultants helping us on cloud transition
• Set up end-to-end ETL pipelines in Azure for both global and local datasets
• Create cloud architecture and execution plan based on business use cases
• Be a subject expert on Data Engineering in Azure
• Drive high data quality and local data quality rules to ensure business correctness of data
• Coordinate with the local Data Management team to ensure uplift in data quality of data sources
• Act as an ambassador and build awareness of data management capabilities within OpCo
• Coordinate with global team on resources to ensure best practice implementation
• Maintain cooperation between regional organisation operations to ensure scalability
• Manage and drive execution of global data initiatives

To succeed in this Data Lead role, you must be able to provide thought leadership and sign-off on ways of working, methodologies, frameworks, tools, policies, and processes developed by global partners.

Key Responsibilities:

• Bachelor or master’s degree with at least five years' experience in a related role
• Azure Data Architecture and engineering experience; Azure ML experience is a plus
• Pyspark (Python)/Spark SQL (SQL) or related coding experience
• Specific knowledge with: Azure Blobs/Databricks/Data Factory/Synapse
• Strong inter-personal skills and able to work and interact effectively in a team-based environment; particularly between the data team and BI team
