Senior Data Engineer

An exciting Senior Data Engineer job has just become available at one of the multinational financial services companies based in Kuala Lumpur.

About the Senior Data Engineer Role:
Based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, you will be responsible for all aspects of designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining and researching of the framework and method for developing data workflows, data models and data infrastructure across various technology platforms to achieve business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop effective data solution to extract, process, store and retrieve data
• Design and develop logical and physical data models/data schema using best practices to manage the data storing and data exchange effectively
• Support data warehouse operation and maintenance
• Assist in development of guidelines, standards, and processes to ensure the highest data quality and integrity in the data lake/data warehouse
• Support and implement initiatives for continual engineering improvements
• Work with system owners and data owners to understand the types of data collected in various databases and data warehouses
• Innovate through exploration, benchmarking, making recommendations, and implementing latest data technologies or platforms.

To succeed in this Senior Data Engineer role, you will need hands on working experience managing data lakes/data warehouses, and working with ETL/ELT data pipelines development.

Key Requirements:

• Three years or more of working experience in related field - Managing data lakes/data warehouses; and working with ETL/ELT data pipelines development.
• Experience in delivering data solution in AWS data stack, Databricks, RDS and/or equivalent technology
• Experience in developing data model/data schema
• Demonstrated knowledge in CI/CD
• Experience in web scraping, and any other open source tools is an added advantage
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, Spark, Databricks, AWS (Textract, Lambda, API Gateway, Glue, Athena, and etc.) or equivalent technology
• Knowledge of Git Action, Terraform or equivalent technology
• Knowledge of BI tools, such as Power BI, MicroStrategy, and/or Tableau is an added advantage
