An exciting Data Scientist job has just been made available at a Fortune 500 financial services institution based in Kuala Lumpur.

About the Data Scientist Role:
This Data Scientist role is part of the data science and AI team. You will deliver analytical work that drives business growth, customer experience, productivity and optimises efficiencies. You will also deliver the analytics and AI workplan with the Insights team and business users to ensure delivery of brilliant analytics work that meets the business pace.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and execute the data science approach and road map to support the long term and short term business needs/goals, which will drive tangible business outcome
• Work closely with multidisciplinary team to shape our AI strategy and able to present the potential for AI (e.g. deep learning, NLP, image recognition, text recognition, chatbots, robotics, etc.) in solving business problems to the Business and Management team
• Collaborate with potential partner(s)/vendor(s) or internal teams to develop an efficient prototype, conduct assessment of the AI solution, give feedback, determine areas of improvement, and finalise the design, to automate or streamline operations within the company
• Set high ethical standards while applying artificial intelligence (AI)
• Be the analytics technical expert and use large data sets and strong in applying varieties of machine learning/AI methodology/algorithms with different data tools in developing the models, AI solutions, running simulations, and optimisation
• Drive the collection of new data and refinement of existing data sources

To succeed in this Data Scientist role, you will need to have a hands-on approach to high quality AI and analytics projects.

Key Requirements:

• Expert in programming based analytics with experience in two or more of the following languages:
  
  • SQL (mandatory)
  • R
  • Python
  • PySpark

• At least three years' experience in formulating and strategising AI solutions, applying AI to practical and comprehensive technical solutions
• Hands-on knowledge in machine learning, deep learning, Tensorflow, NLP and NLU including transformers, conversational systems, chatbots, language models, or similar focus on Cognitive AI
• Platform expertise combination of any key technologies like IBM Watson Assistant, Azure Cognitive, Google DialogFlow, Rasa NLU, Amazon Lex, Polly and Transcribe, Wiz.ai, etc.
• Experience working with multimodal datasets and solving multimodal dialogue tasks (e.g. visual question answering)
• Good understanding statistical models, segmentations, predictive and propensity models (e.g. clustering, predictive models, neural network, scenario analysis, conceptual modelling, hypothesis testing)
• Good understanding of design and machine learning algorithm principles
• Good understanding of machine learning model management principles and practices
• Strong analytical skills, deductive reasoning, problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Experience in Big Data platforms (esp unstructured data, Azure Databricks) is an added bonus
• Experience working in Computer Vision, Image Processing, or OCR tools is an added advantage
• Strong sense of urgency and accountability to drive business outcomes
• Bachelor's/master's degree
