What you'll do:
As Warehouse Supervisor based in Bayan Lepas, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing daily operations within the warehouse environment. Your day-to-day activities will involve guiding a dedicated team of warehouse keepers and material handlers towards achieving operational excellence. You will be responsible for monitoring inventory control functions with precision while processing transactions that facilitate seamless movement of goods. By coordinating production order kitting before start dates, you will help ensure timely availability of materials for manufacturing. Your strategic approach will drive improvements in cycle count processes as well as overall inventory accuracy. Advising staff on best practices for handling goods and maintaining safety standards will be central to your responsibilities. You will also plan efficient layouts for storage areas based on turnover rates and item characteristics. Success in this role requires an ability to foster collaboration across departments such as Production Supervisors, Group Leaders, Purchasing, Planning, Engineering, Quality Control, and Sales.
- Supervise and train warehouse keepers and material handlers by providing guidance, support, and regular feedback to ensure high standards of performance.
- Monitor inventory control functions meticulously to maintain accurate records and prevent discrepancies between physical stock and system data.
- Process and handle inventory postings and transactions efficiently while coordinating inventory movement throughout the warehouse.
- Coordinate production order kitting by preparing materials for the shop floor ahead of scheduled start dates to ensure smooth workflow.
- Oversee and develop strategies aimed at improving cycle count processes for greater efficiency and first-pass accuracy in inventory management.
- Recommend enhancements to existing procedures in order to improve overall inventory accuracy across all stocking locations.
- Advise warehouse keepers on best practices for care, preservation, receiving, storage, and shipping of goods to maintain product integrity.
- Ensure safe use of equipment by all warehouse staff through training sessions and regular safety audits.
- Trace, identify, and rectify any discrepancies between physical inventory counts and stocking records by implementing error-proof methods.
- Plan layout of stockroom, warehouse, and other storage areas considering turnover rates, item size, weight, and related factors for optimal space utilisation.
What you bring:

- At least 5 years of relevant experience in warehouse supervision or an equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience within similar environments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook enabling you to manage documentation and reporting tasks effectively.
- Experience working within an MRP operating environment; familiarity with Microsoft Navision is considered advantageous but not essential.
- Minimum 3 years’ supervisory experience with proven ability to handle conflict issues constructively while nurturing a positive team atmosphere.
- Excellent working knowledge of supply chain management principles including Lean manufacturing methodologies for process optimisation.
- Strong interpersonal skills that enable you to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams across multiple departments.
- Attention to detail when monitoring inventory levels or reconciling discrepancies between physical stock counts and system records.
- Commitment to safety protocols ensuring all staff operate equipment responsibly within established guidelines.
