Regional Trade Compliance Lead Our client is seeking a highly knowledgeable and dependable Regional Trade Compliance Lead to join their team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage trade compliance programs for the APAC Region, monitor performance of Customs partners, and lead Customs change management projects.

What you'll do:

As a Regional Trade Compliance Lead, you will play a crucial role in managing trade compliance programs for the APAC Region. You will be responsible for monitoring the performance of Customs partners, identifying continuous improvement initiatives, and leading Customs change management projects. Your role will also involve consultancy on Customs compliance questions and/or issues, making you the key contact for Customs agencies in the region of support.

  • Monitor customs KPI’s with customs brokers related to spend, service, and productivity.
  • Own end-to-end Customs clearance activities within defined scope.
  • Create & manage Customs clearing processes with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Build strong relationships with external customs partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure customs regulations are in place for defined scope.
  • Actively search for new industry trends.
  • Organise training for internal stakeholders on customs basics topics.
  • Attend forums / training to remain updated with latest Customs regulations.
  • Lead Customs readiness for possible acquisitions and product launches.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Regional Trade Compliance Lead position brings a wealth of international trade experience to the table. You have demonstrated your ability to focus, prioritize, and adapt in previous roles. Your experience spans across all modes of transportation including air, sea, & road transport for ambient, cold chain and dangerous goods. You are well-versed in systemic connectivity with external customs partners and have a deep understanding of Customs compliance. Your leadership skills are complemented by your ability to manage effectively in a crisis.

  • 8+ Years of direct international trade experience
  • Experience in all modes of transportation (air, sea, & road), for ambient, cold chain and dangerous goods.
  • Experience in systemic connectivity (interfaces) with External customs partners.
  • Knowledge of Customs compliance and design of optimal freight flows.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and uncertainty.
  • Strong leadership and influence skills.
  • Proven ability to manage effectively in a crisis.
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written).
  • Experience with SAP.
  • Deep Knowledge of incoterms, Free Trade Agreements, Preferential Origin rules, Embargo and Sanctioned Country restrictions, Tariff Classification
