Supply Chain Officer

A prominent organisation within the HVAC sector for the automotive industry is embarking on an exciting new chapter by establishing a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Selangor. They are seeking a dedicated Supply Chain Officer who will play a pivotal role in shaping the supply chain operations from the ground up; to be part of a major expansion, where your expertise in procurement, logistics, and supplier management will directly influence the success of this new facility.

What you'll do:

You will also play an essential role in supporting compliance with international quality standards while fostering strong relationships across departments to resolve challenges collaboratively. Also you be given an opportunity to learn on sourcing reliable suppliers, negotiating favourable terms, overseeing supplier quality during critical launch periods, and ensuring seamless logistics operations.

Supply Chain & Logistics

  • Support all aspects of import and export documentation ensuring full compliance with customs regulations, including preparing invoices, customs declarations, and monitoring clearance status.
  • Control freight billing documentation accurately while coordinating scrap destruction activities and maintaining detailed reporting records.
  • Support compliance with international standards such as IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 by participating in process documentation efforts like PFMEA and Control Plans.
  • Maintain Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) compliance alongside 5S workplace organisation standards to foster a safe and efficient working environment.

Supplier and vendor management

  • Source, evaluate, and select suppliers for raw materials, components, and services while leading supplier engagement activities for new product launches including Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
  • Negotiate commercial terms with suppliers in alignment with global purchasing guidelines to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality standards are met.Conduct comprehensive supplier audits and capability assessments to maintain high standards of quality and reliability.
  • Ensure suppliers deliver defect-free parts during launch phases and early production runs by implementing robust containment and corrective action processes.
  • Monitor key supplier performance indicators such as Parts Per Million (PPM) defects and delivery metrics, coordinating cross-functional teams to resolve any issues promptly.

What you bring:

  • 2-3 years of relevant experience within supply chain management functions such as procurement, logistics, supplier development or quality assurance is essential for effective performance in this role.
  • Experience within the manufacturing or automotive sectors will be highly advantageous as it demonstrates familiarity with industry-specific requirements.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field is required to provide the technical foundation necessary for understanding complex supply chain processes.
  • Strong knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 standards ensures you can support compliance initiatives effectively within the organisation.
  • Excellent command of English is necessary for communicating confidently with international clients and stakeholders.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office applications as well as ERP systems allows you to manage data efficiently and streamline workflow processes.
