An exciting opportunity awaits for an Assistant Supply Chain Manager to join a newly established wholesale business in Kuala Lumpur.
What you'll do:
As an Assistant Supply Chain Manager based in Kuala Lumpur, you will be instrumental in establishing robust supply chain processes for a new wholesale business.
- Lead and manage end-to-end supply chain activities including logistics, distribution, demand planning, supply planning, and procurement to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain accurate product information within inventory management systems such as Autocount to support effective forecasting and stock control.
- Place orders with suppliers based on demand forecasts without needing to negotiate or source new suppliers, ensuring timely replenishment of stock.
- Coordinate shipment arrangements by liaising with freight forwarders and handling all necessary documentation matching for inbound goods.
- Register shipments with relevant authorities such as DagangNet and apply for permits when required (e.g., SIRIM), ensuring compliance with local regulations.
- Support demand forecasting and supply planning including slow-moving stock reviews and cost optimisation projects to enhance inventory efficiency.
- Monitor purchase costs, margins, and pricing structures in collaboration with finance teams to support profitability objectives.
- Oversee general administrative functions such as documentation management, contracts, licenses, records keeping, purchase orders, invoices, delivery paperwork, and approvals.
What you bring:
To excel as an Assistant Supply Chain Manager in this new venture, your proven experience should include hands-on involvement in supply chain operations within sectors such as wholesale or healthcare.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, Finance or a related discipline is required for this role.
- A minimum of five years’ experience in supply chain management, demand or supply planning, procurement administration or operations roles is essential for success.
- Experience working within wholesale, distribution, FMCG, healthcare, pharmaceutical would be highly advantageous.
- Prior involvement in startup environments or growing businesses is preferred due to the dynamic nature of this role.
- Exceptional organisational skills combined with strong administrative capabilities are crucial for managing multiple priorities efficiently.
- Proficiency in Excel and office productivity tools is required; familiarity with ERP or inventory management systems would be beneficial.
- Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines demonstrates reliability and accountability within a supportive team setting.
- Excellent communication skills paired with stakeholder management abilities are necessary for fostering positive relationships across internal teams and external partners.
