A leading player in the quick service restaurant industry is seeking an Assistant Supply Chain Manager to join their expanding team in Kuala Lumpur.

What you'll do:

As an Assistant Supply Chain Manager, you will play a central role in orchestrating demand planning activities while supporting impactful marketing campaigns across Malaysia’s quick service restaurant sector.

  • Manage relationships with key distribution partners to guarantee consistent supply assurance, effective inventory control, and robust risk management across all outlets.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive demand forecasting strategies tailored for Malaysia’s regular trade cycles, promotional events, and new store launches.
  • Monitor evolving demand patterns using data analysis tools; adjust forecasts proactively to maintain optimal inventory levels while minimising stockouts or excess stock situations.
  • Drive continuous improvement by refining forecasting tools, templates, and processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency within the supply chain function.
  • Coordinate closely with 4PL partners to communicate timely demand forecasts that enable smooth supply chain operations from suppliers through distribution centres to stores.
  • Optimise inventory management processes by balancing fluctuating demand against holding costs to achieve cost-effective product availability.
  • Partner with logistics and distribution teams to facilitate seamless movement of goods throughout the supply network, ensuring products reach stores efficiently.
  • Support freight and logistics cost optimisation initiatives by working alongside logistics partners; review carton configurations, pack sizes, and minimum order quantities for further efficiencies.

What you bring:

To excel as an Assistant Supply Chain Manager you will bring substantial experience gained from similar roles within the fast food or broader food & beverage sectors.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field is required; a Master’s degree would be considered an advantage for deeper strategic insight.
  • At least six years’ proven experience in supply chain management roles focused on demand planning and marketing campaign execution within fast food or food & beverage retail environments.
  • Proficiency in using supply chain software systems such as ERP platforms or specialised demand forecasting tools is essential for success in this role.
  • Excellent project management abilities combined with outstanding organisational skills; capable of managing multiple priorities effectively even without direct reports but able to guide distribution centre personnel as needed.
  • Strong interpersonal skills that foster co-operation among cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, operations, finance, suppliers and logistics partners.
  • Experience identifying opportunities for cost reduction or process improvement within complex supply chains while maintaining product quality standards is highly valued.
  • Ability to adapt quickly within a fast-paced environment; comfortable navigating ambiguity while delivering practical solutions that benefit the wider team.
