A leading organisation in the fast-moving consumer goods sector is seeking a Supply Chain Lead to join their operations team in Kuala Lumpur.
What you'll do:
As the Supply Chain Lead, you will play a pivotal role in orchestrating the entire supply chain lifecycle.
- Coordinate order distribution schedules with detailed loading plans originating from India, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Lead all aspects of supply chain operations including strategic planning, procurement processes, inventory control, efficient warehousing solutions, and effective distribution networks.
- Manage customer distribution details for each container shipment, maintaining alignment with individual client schedules and requirements.
- Develop and execute robust supply chain strategies that are closely aligned with overall business objectives and market demands.
- Oversee documentation processes and ensure compliance for all import shipments, facilitating prompt customs clearance and regulatory adherence.
- Optimise container clearance procedures by identifying bottlenecks and implementing solutions that improve efficiency while reducing costs.
- Design and implement cost-effective break-bulk operations strategies focused on consignment handling efficiency and maximising logistics savings.
- Identify potential risks within the supply chain and develop contingency plans to guarantee uninterrupted supply continuity under various scenarios.
- Ensure strict compliance with all relevant regulatory standards, safety protocols, and internal company policies throughout the supply chain process.
What you bring:
To excel as the Supply Chain Lead, you will bring extensive experience gained from progressively responsible roles within supply chain or logistics environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Engineering or related discipline; MBA qualification is highly desirable for added strategic insight.
- Minimum of 7–10 years’ experience in supply chain or logistics roles within the FMCG sector or similar industries; at least 3 years should be spent in a leadership capacity overseeing teams or projects.
- Comprehensive understanding of demand planning methodologies coupled with hands-on experience in procurement processes and inventory management systems.
- Proficiency in ERP platforms such as SAP or Oracle as well as analytics tools for data-driven decision making; advanced MS Excel skills including Pivot Tables, Power Query, complex formulas, dashboards creation, scenario modelling; knowledge of macros/VBA is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to drive operational excellence through continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Exceptional communication skills enabling you to build rapport with diverse stakeholders including suppliers, logistics partners, internal teams—and present findings effectively to senior management.
- Experience in vendor relationship management including contract negotiation and performance evaluation within complex supply chains.
