A multinational manufacturing company is looking for a Supply Chain Manager. In this job, you will lead its sourcing, procurement, production and material planning activities for its manufacturing operations in Malaysia.

About the Supply Chain Manager Role:
In this position, you will be tasked to strategise and guide the supply chain functions to address areas such as improvement in contract terms, commodity price trend analysis, quality improvement, sourcing and supply alternatives, production planning and material planning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the procurement of raw material and indirect goods and services for the company
• Carry out supplier management activities such as contract negotiations, quality management, and supply assurance
• Source and evaluate commodity price movements to be the subject-matter expert on purchase timing and strategic spend management
• Oversee raw materials and production planning to ensure maximised OTIF rates
• Identify best commodity purchase timing and recognise trends of price fluctuations to better advise upper management on pricing trends and forecasting
• Liaise with all internal stakeholders within the company to ensure the steady and smooth flow of goods in and out of the plant
• Oversee and be hands-on in managing supply chain functions of the company to ensure high on time delivery rates and tackling issues that arise in productivity
• Be a driver of cost reduction and profit improvement programmes for raw materials
• Establish KPI objectives that are in line with business objectives as well as the procurement functional objectives

To succeed in the Supply Chain Manager role, you will need to have strong hands-on experience in contract negotiations, strategic sourcing, managing production and material planning functions.

Key Requirements:

• Degree qualification in Supply Chain Management, Procurement or any related field
• Over 10 years of work experience in procurement, planning and overall supply chain functions
• Ability to manage multiple functions concurrently while meeting deadlines and delivering quality work
• Experience with ERP, Microsoft Office (PowerBI, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Strong communication skills to manage internal and external stakeholders
• Strong analytical, forecasting and problem solving abilities to manage unforeseen circumstances
