A Supply Chain Manager job has become available at a parts manufacturing company, to lead and optimise supply chain processes within the company to ensure smooth operations.

About the Supply Chain Manager Role:
In this role, you will be responsible for managing the procurement, warehousing and logistics aspects of its manufacturing plant to drive cost savings initiatives, long term savings as well as managing imports of materials, inventory accuracy and material readiness for production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate sourcing activities for materials and ensuring availability of alternative suppliers within the market
• Source and analyse suppliers to ensure the best price, quality and delivery for the organisation and drive long-term savings
• Review the materials procurement trend of the organisation to standardise and simplify the Approved Vendor List (AVL) and to negotiate bulk purchasing
• Proactively review customer service processes and quality assurance levels of the business to take preemptive mitigation plans to prevent issues
• Manage logistics and warehouse operations to ensure smooth delivery and storage of goods
• Carry out negotiations with Third Party Logistics Service Providers to ensure timely release of goods from customs
• Liaise closely with the planning team to ensure Material Requirement Plan (MRP) is aligned to meet planned production needs
• Manage compliance of the company to local authorities (customs, MIDA, MITI and local council)

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess strong procurement skills and strong hands-on knowledge in the vendor management process to provide insightful and impactful reporting to higher management.

Key Requirements:

• Degree in supply chain, finance or any related field
• Five or more years of work experience in a procurement position, preferably in an automotive environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently whilst still being a team player
