A leading Air Technology Hub in Shah Alam, Selangor is seeking a Production Planner to join their knowledgeable and supportive team. This role offers you the opportunity to play a pivotal part in coordinating production schedules, material planning, and inventory control, ensuring efficient manufacturing operations using advanced systems such as SAP R/3 and MRP.

What you'll do:

Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve developing robust master production schedules that respond dynamically to customer needs while maintaining optimal inventory levels. By leveraging SAP R/3 tools for material planning and inventory control, you will ensure that every aspect of the manufacturing operation runs smoothly.

  • Work closely with management to set up new plant processes and operations, ensuring seamless integration into existing workflows.
  • Develop and maintain master production schedules (MPS) that align with customer demand and delivery timelines, optimising resource allocation.
  • Perform detailed capacity planning by balancing manpower, machinery, and production lines while proactively addressing bottlenecks to maximise output.
  • Utilise SAP R/3 for precise material planning, effective inventory control, and accurate management of Bills of Materials (BOM), supporting smooth production cycles.
  • Raise purchase orders for raw materials and coordinate with suppliers to guarantee timely deliveries that meet production requirements.
  • Collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams including Production, Procurement, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Logistics, and Sales to ensure alignment on objectives.
  • Monitor inbound shipments and logistics activities to synchronise with production schedules for uninterrupted manufacturing flow.
  • Track key performance metrics such as plan adherence rates, inventory turnover ratios, and delivery reliability statistics to drive operational improvements.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives by contributing ideas for planning accuracy enhancements and workflow efficiency gains.

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, supply chain management or a closely related discipline provides the foundational knowledge required for this role.
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in production planning or manufacturing operations equips you with practical insights into industry best practices.
  • Previous exposure to HVAC systems, motors or electronic components is highly desirable as it enhances your understanding of sector-specific challenges.
  • Proficiency in SAP R/3 or S4 HANA enables you to manage complex scheduling tasks efficiently using state-of-the-art digital tools.
  • Your strong analytical skills allow you to interpret data accurately for informed decision-making regarding capacity planning and inventory optimisation.
  • Excellent communication abilities facilitate clear interactions with colleagues across different functions within the organisation.
  • Outstanding organisational skills help you juggle multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of accuracy in all aspects of your work.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Kaizen methodologies empowers you to contribute meaningfully towards continuous improvement efforts.
