What you'll do:
As a Sourcing Engineer, you will immerse yourself in a variety of responsibilities that ensure the seamless introduction of new products through effective material management. Your day-to-day activities will involve analysing material requirements, conducting strategic sourcing exercises, identifying reliable suppliers, and negotiating favourable terms that benefit both the organisation and its clients. Success in this role requires strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a passion for collaborative problem-solving within a supportive team environment.
- Provide comprehensive sourcing support for all new product introduction projects, ensuring that materials are available in sufficient quantities to facilitate uninterrupted NPI analysis.
- Analyse material and product requirements by reviewing preliminary specifications and performing strategic sourcing activities to secure the best possible outcomes for the organisation.
- Identify suitable suppliers who can deliver sustainable commercial advantages over the long term while maintaining high standards of quality and competitive pricing.
- Conduct thorough market surveys to source suppliers offering optimal pricing structures without compromising on quality or reliability.
- Deliver insightful market intelligence reports on both new and existing suppliers, products, commodities, materials, or technologies relevant to ongoing business needs.
- Work collaboratively with R&D or Engineering teams to develop and select appropriate components or material platforms that align with company objectives.
- Perform value engineering or value analysis on current materials to support annual cost reduction targets and localisation initiatives set by the organisation.
- Review contract manufacturer gating lists and provide sourcing as well as price review support specifically for electrical and electronic items supplied to contract manufacturers.
- Manage LED crossover requests by communicating with existing suppliers, compiling detailed spreadsheets comparing part specifications and pricing for effective decision-making.
- Collect data from suppliers required by end customers to complete supplier surveys necessary for qualifying the organisation as a new LED supplier.

Your attention to detail ensures compliance with customer requirements during qualification processes while your communication skills foster positive relationships across all levels of the supply chain network. Ultimately, your commitment to teamwork, continuous learning, and process improvement sets you apart as an ideal candidate for this rewarding opportunity.
- Demonstrated experience in sourcing engineering or supply chain roles within a manufacturing environment where you have supported new product introductions.
- Proven ability to analyse material requirements thoroughly and perform strategic sourcing based on technical specifications provided by cross-functional teams.

- Familiarity with collaborating alongside R&D or Engineering departments to develop component platforms that meet organisational goals.
- Expertise in performing value engineering or value analysis on existing materials as part of cost reduction initiatives or localisation strategies.
- Competence in reviewing contract manufacturer gating lists and providing targeted sourcing support for electrical or electronic items supplied externally.
