Procurement Manager (Food Manufacturing)

A leading food manufacturing organisation in Selangor is seeking a Procurement Manager to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of their APAC operations. This position offers you the opportunity to act as the crucial link between central procurement, local teams, and regional leadership, ensuring best practices and robust governance are embedded across all procurement activities.

As Procurement Manager – Food Manufacturing based in Selangor, you will be entrusted with overseeing end-to-end procurement activities for a major facility within Selangor and APAC Procurement activities. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve close partnership with both centralised group procurement functions and local operational teams.

What you'll do:

• Evaluate, monitor, and manage supply chain risk by supporting de-risking projects for the facility to ensure continuity and security of supply.
• Supervise and oversee food raw material import permit applications to guarantee compliance with regulatory requirements and uninterrupted production.
• Participate actively in the Supplier Review System including maintaining approved supplier lists to uphold quality standards and supplier performance.
• Collaborate closely with APAC procurement teams to establish unified procurement processes across all plants for greater efficiency and consistency.
• Work diligently to align procurement procedures within the team and with key stakeholders such as supply chain management, production, central procurement, and finance.
• Cooperate with central procurement teams to plan, implement, and execute savings initiatives covering raw materials, packaging, indirect spend, capital expenditure, and energy.
• Provide commodity insights by analysing price developments, market drivers, and conditions to inform purchasing strategies.
• Partner with central procurement, group finance, and local finance teams to analyse data and set budget prices for each fiscal year.
• Represent both central and local procurement functions in interactions with local operations teams to ensure seamless communication and task coverage.
• Ensure that realised procurement savings are accurately reflected in the local profit & loss statements through diligent tracking and reporting.

What you bring:

• At least five years’ experience in a similar procurement or supply chain management role within FMCG or manufacturing environments.
• Background demonstrates success in managing complex supplier relationships while delivering measurable cost savings.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Great Plains.
• Proven yourself as an effective change agent capable of guiding teams through transformation projects smoothly.
• Financial literacy enables you to analyse budgets, track savings realisation, and collaborate effectively with finance colleagues.You communicate clearly across all levels—listening attentively, writing persuasively, and interacting diplomatically with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
• Comfortable managing multiple deadlines simultaneously thanks to your adaptable approach and calm demeanour during busy periods.
• Your integrity is beyond question; you consistently demonstrate honesty in all dealings while building trust-based relationships across departments.
