What you'll do:
As Senior Manager, Global Commodity Management, you will be entrusted with overseeing the strategic direction of the Laminate and Prepreg categories on a global scale. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve collaborating closely with internal teams to align sourcing strategies with organisational goals while maintaining flexibility to adapt to changing market conditions. You will play a central role in negotiating contracts that secure favourable terms for the company while building long-term partnerships with suppliers. By leveraging your analytical skills in cost modelling and market intelligence, you will help mitigate risks associated with globalisation and trade compliance. Success in this role requires a proactive approach to supplier management, ensuring compliance with environmental standards and driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance overall supply chain resilience.
- Manage the annual global spend for Laminate and Prepreg categories by devising clear strategies that reflect evolving business needs.
- Engage with internal stakeholders across a matrix environment to ensure seamless implementation of category strategies.
- Periodically review and adjust category strategies in response to market dynamics and changes in business models.
- Develop, manage, and execute comprehensive sourcing strategies based on deep market analysis, cost drivers, vendor landscapes, and internal requirements.
- Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers covering pricing structures, rebate programmes, payment terms, and other agreements to achieve cost savings and improved returns.
- Oversee the Request for Quotation process and award preferred supplier status using effective scoring criteria developed by cross-functional teams.
- Manage complex end-to-end global supply chains including cost modelling and detailed quotation analysis to support business objectives.
- Establish preferred supplier selection criteria, rationalise the supply base, and nurture strategic relationships with targeted partners.
- Drive continuous improvement through supplier performance reviews focusing on quality, delivery timelines, technological advancement, and cost performance.
- Implement early risk assessment processes with suppliers to ensure business continuity and build resilient upstream supply chains.

- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in category management and strategic sourcing within multinational electronics manufacturing environments handling PCB raw materials such as Laminate and Prepreg.
- Proven track record of managing complex pricing structures and contract negotiations across multiple projects or programmes.
- Demonstrated ability in supplier relationship management including development initiatives and risk mitigation planning.
- Expertise in total cost management processes including cost modelling techniques and should-cost analysis methodologies.
- Collaborative mindset with strong project management capabilities alongside excellent organisational skills.
- Effective communication abilities encompassing email correspondence, presentations, team facilitation sessions, and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
- Capacity to thrive within high-paced matrix environments while managing multiple concurrent projects across diverse geographic regions or time zones.
- Advanced proficiency in business analytics tools including ERP systems (Oracle, SAP) as well as Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Power BI).
- Experience training procurement teams at various sites through train-the-trainer programmes.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management & Logistics or Business Management/Engineering; professional certification in supply chain disciplines (CPSM, CSCP, CPIM etc.) is highly desirable.
