What you'll do:

As a Strategic Sourcing Manager based in Perai, you will be entrusted with driving forward-thinking sourcing strategies that underpin the success of advanced technology clients worldwide. Your day-to-day activities will involve building resilient supplier networks by identifying new partners aligned with business goals; negotiating contracts that deliver both immediate savings and sustainable value; leveraging digital procurement tools for enhanced visibility; and collaborating closely with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of sourcing initiatives into broader operational plans. You will also play a key role in risk mitigation by proactively managing supply disruptions through diversified approaches. Success in this position means consistently delivering measurable cost reductions while upholding the highest standards of compliance and ethical conduct. • Oversee and optimise the entire sourcing process by developing and executing high-impact strategies that align with business growth objectives and cost efficiency targets.
• Identify, qualify, and onboard strategic suppliers who can support long-term operational excellence and innovation within the supply chain.
• Foster strong supplier relationships to encourage collaboration on cost reduction initiatives and ensure consistent delivery of quality materials.
• Lead complex negotiations to secure competitive pricing structures, long-term value agreements, and stable supply channels for critical commodities.
• Implement breakthrough initiatives that challenge conventional procurement practices and enhance overall business agility.
• Analyse raw material market trends using quantitative techniques such as regression analysis and statistical tools to anticipate fluctuations and secure favourable terms.
• Develop cost-reduction programmes through supplier collaboration, process improvements, and data-driven decision-making.
• Mitigate supply risks by diversifying sourcing strategies and establishing proactive contingency plans to ensure business continuity.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Business Development, Engineering, Quality, Production teams as well as Regional Commodity Managers to align sourcing strategies with organisational needs.
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws, industry standards, company policies while acting as the primary point of contact with government agencies such as MIDA, MITI, Customs.

• Possess at least a Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, Operations Management or Manufacturing Engineering which equips you with foundational knowledge for effective sourcing leadership.
• Demonstrate over five years’ experience in supply chain management or strategic sourcing roles where you have successfully managed supplier relationships and driven process improvements.
• Showcase strong understanding of manufacturing operations along with deep insights into procurement strategies relevant to industrial packaging commodities such as paper, plastics, wood, and steel.
• Proven track record in leading teams towards achieving ambitious project milestones while maintaining collaborative spirit under pressure.
• Exhibit excellent negotiation skills supported by hands-on experience in contract management and supplier qualification processes.
• Ability to conduct thorough market research using advanced quantitative techniques like regression analysis or decision trees for actionable insights.
• Experience engaging directly with government agencies (MIDA, MITI, Customs) as the main liaison for regulatory matters related to supply chain operations.
• Bilingual capabilities (English/Chinese/other languages) are highly desirable for supporting regional projects including those involving transfer activities from China.
• Exceptional project management skills enabling coordination among multiple stakeholders across different functions within tight deadlines.
• A conscientious self-starter who is adaptable to changing market dynamics; brings analytical thinking combined with clear communication abilities.
