Senior Buyer Lead (Indirect) (FMCG)
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Buyer Lead (Indirect) to join their team in Johor. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage a diverse portfolio of indirect spend categories, develop and implement sourcing strategies, and build strong relationships with internal stakeholders.
What you'll do:
As a Senior Buyer Lead (Indirect) (FMCG), your primary responsibility will be managing a diverse portfolio of indirect spend categories. You will develop and implement effective sourcing strategies, ensuring the most efficient procurement at the best TCO. Your role will involve creating action plans to continuously reduce purchasing costs, while ensuring timely acquisition and delivery of goods and services as per internal guidelines. You will also generate POs, maintain up-to-date documentation of all purchases, manage supplier performance, support issue resolution between suppliers and internal stakeholders, and ensure compliance with group purchasing processes.
- Manage and oversee the indirect spend portfolio based on defined category and buying thresholds.
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies to ensure efficient procurement.
- Create and manage ongoing action plans to reduce purchasing costs.
- Ensure timely acquisition and delivery of goods and services as per internal guidelines.
- Generate Purchase Orders (POs) and maintain up-to-date documentation of all purchases.
- Manage performance and relationships with suppliers to ensure optimal service quality.
- Support resolution of issues between suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain compliance with group purchasing processes.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the Senior Buyer Lead (Indirect) position brings a wealth of experience in indirect spend purchasing within an international company setting. You have a proven background in RFI, RFQ, RFP procedures which showcases your excellent negotiation skills.
- Minimum 8 years' experience in indirect spend purchasing in an international company.
- Proven background in Request For Information (RFI), Request For Quotation (RFQ), Request For Proposal (RFP) procedures.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical skills with problem-solving ability.
- High interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively in team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, ERP systems such as ORACLE, SAP, MAXIMO.
