Our client is seeking a Senior Purchasing Executive (Technical Buyer) to join their dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to utilise your purchasing and negotiation skills in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for sourcing materials, negotiating prices, and managing supplier relationships. Your excellent communication skills and meticulous attention to detail will ensure the smooth operation of the purchasing department.

What you'll do:

As a Senior Purchasing Executive (Technical Buyer), you will play a pivotal role in the procurement process. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include sourcing materials from local and overseas suppliers, negotiating prices, preparing purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery of goods/services, supporting audit activities, evaluating suppliers, maintaining accurate records, preparing reports, applying for relevant licenses or permits as needed. Your ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment will be key to your success in this role.

  • Perform sourcing, price negotiation and comparison for materials from local and/or overseas suppliers.
  • Prepare and email purchase orders, monitor and ensure timely delivery of goods and services purchased.
  • Perform 3-ways matching of PO, DO and Invoices, perform goods receipt in system before submitting to Finance for payment.
  • Liaise with relevant departments if the delivery of goods/services does not meet the requested delivery date/quantity/specification.
  • Support on internal and external audits activities.
  • Support on supplier evaluation, selection and performance management related process and documentation.
  • Work together with all team members and management to achieve the department and company’s goals set.
  • Monitor, maintain proper and accurate records of purchase plan, purchase order, monthly budget and actual expenses, suppliers' information and documentations, and others reports.
  • Preparation and submission of Custom Duties Exemption Report.
  • Application of Sales Tax, MIDA Import Duty Exemption, CIDB, MTIB and any other relevant license or permits as needed.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Senior Purchasing Executive (Technical Buyer) position is someone who has a diploma in any field, with a preference for those who have experience in purchasing, inventory/material management or a similar role within a manufacturing environment. You should have excellent communication and negotiation skills. Your proficiency in MS Excel, MS Words, MS PowerPoint, Outlook will be crucial in this role. We are looking for someone who is resourceful, self-driven, proactive and can work both independently and as part of a team. Your ability to work well under stress in a fast-paced environment will be key to your success in this role.

  • Possess at least Diploma in any field.
  • Fresh graduate or Junior Executive specialized in Purchasing, Inventory/Material or equivalent. Preferably with working experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, MS Words, MS PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with suppliers.
  • Resourceful, self-driven, proactive team player who can also work independently.
  • Able to work well under stress in a fast-paced environment.
  • Hardworking and meticulous with a positive attitude.
