An automotive service company is seeking an Assistant Procurement Manager to manage its procurement activities to streamline its processes and liaise with internal stakeholders to drive cost saving initiatives and meet stringent deadlines.
About the Assistant Procurement Manager Role: In this role, you will be responsible for leading the procurement activities such as planning and purchasing of trade materials as well as driving cost saving initiatives in order to ensure smooth supply of materials from supplier to service centres.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare material requisition, purchase orders and other related procurement documents
Develop and implement dual sourcing activities to ensure alternative suppliers
Drive vendor selection and cost management by negotiating contracts and implementing cost saving strategies
Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels and reducing SLOB and ageing stock
Maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure timely deliveries and to resolve any issues with regards to stocking, logistics and order fulfilment
Collaborate with transporters to manage distribution and warehouse activities to optimise efficiency and costs
Proactively identify improvement opportunities in operations and develop strategies to improve processes and further reduce costs
To succeed in this role, you will need to possess good leadership skills and strong hands-on knowledge in purchasing activities to ensure that all purchasing activities are in line with the company’s goals.
Key Requirements:
Degree in supply chain, business administration or any related field
Over five years of work experience in a purchasing function in manufacturing/retail industry
Able to use Microsoft Office
Fluent in written and spoken English language
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work independently whilst still being a team player
