A electrical equipment distribution company is seeking a Category Procurement Specialist - Electrical Equipment. In this job, you will manage the procurement within local and APAC region, covering direct materials and project spends and driving cost savings initiatives within the region.
About the Category Procurement Specialist - Electrical Equipment Role: In this role, you will be responsible for procurement activities for all matters related to project procurement and manage scopes from sourcing down to material delivery at site whilst leveraging on regional presence to drive further cost reduction.
Key Responsibilities:
Be responsible for pre/post-RFQ works to conduct price analysis and assist in the formulation of pre-bid budgets
Manage sourcing, supplier qualification, contract negotiation, contract award and shipment of delivery
Achieve and maintain cost competitiveness
Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of company goals and timely deliveries
Further develop the approved vendor list to diversify supplier alternatives within the region
Manage the sourcing of direct materials and contractors for installation and commissioning works
Perform cost and scenario analysis as well as benchmarking
Develop and implement contingency strategies to mitigate unforeseen situations
Implement dual sourcing initiatives to create a mature vendor list
To succeed in this role, you will need to possess good leadership skills and strong hands-on knowledge in sourcing, contract negotiation, purchasing, vendor development, vendor assessment and managing vendor compliance with accordance to client requirements.
Key Requirements:
Degree in supply chain management, business administration or any related field
Over five years of work experience in a procurement function within the electrical equipment management industry
Proven track record of cost savings and contract negotiations
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work independently whilst still being a team player
