An exciting Purchasing Manager job has opened up at a food company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the end-to-end procurement of food raw materials, spare parts, packaging and other indirect materials for the company, deploying strategies that align with the growing needs of the of the business
• Control raw material and risk management of the raw material supply chain, supply contingency and pricing fluctuations
• Identify and source for alternative suppliers to improve pricing and product efficiency
• Ensure both local and international suppliers align with technical specifications, company policies, procedures, and statutory/regulatory requirements
• Take charge of company purchasing operations to meet assigned deadlines and maintain timely materials planning and inventory control
• Oversee and delegate tasks to the purchasing team, managing day-to-day procurement activities
• Maintain the supplier database and record/document purchases in the system for effective record-keeping

To succeed in this Purchasing Manager role, you will need to be driven and possess a deep understanding of procurement processes.

About the Purchasing Manager Role:
In this role, you will handle all matters related to procurement and supplier engagement activities including supplier development, sourcing, supplier performance and procurement for the company’s raw materials, contract manufacturers and packaging.

Key Requirements:

• Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or any related field
• Minimum of five years of supply chain, sourcing, category management experience in a within the FMCG
• Experience in strategic procurement of packaging materials is an added advantage
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office software
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently whilst still being a team player
