A leading global manufacturer is seeking a Supply Chain and Procurement Specialist to join their team.
What you'll do:
As a SEA Supply Chain and Procurement Specialist in the manufacturing sector based in Kuala Lumpur, you will be responsible for facilitating efficient order fulfilment processes while maintaining strong relationships with both customers and vendors.
- Ensure complete sales order processing for all Southeast Asia customers, including preparing Pro-Forma Invoices and communicating with customers to secure sign-off on orders.
- Coordinate transportation arrangements for SEA customers according to incoterms such as DDP, CIF, and FOB, including vessel booking and export declaration preparation.
- Liaise with freight forwarder service providers for shipping coordination under DDP incoterms, managing import documentation and customer pick-up schedules.
- Advise customers on payment preparation prior to delivery to ensure smooth transaction flow.
- Provide monthly updates on joint demand plans for SEA customers to maintain accurate forecasting and planning.
- Input sales orders into QAD systems, including handling miscellaneous logistic charges and invoice processing tasks.
- Act as the SEA Super-User for all master data related to logistical activities, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- Implement procurement policies for internal purchases and manage vendor relationships for indirect procurement needs such as office rental, IT expenses, and marketing costs.
What you bring:
To excel as a Supply Chain and Procurement Specialist within the manufacturing sector, you will bring proven experience in managing complex logistics operations alongside a solid educational background in business administration or related disciplines.
- Bachelor’s degree or minimum Diploma in Business Administration, Logistics, Marketing or related field is required
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in supply chain or procurement roles within the manufacturing industry
- Demonstrated ability to build collaborative environments through effective communication with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
- Advanced competency in data processing tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, regression analysis is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills are needed to handle customer feedback sensitively across multi-cultural settings.
- Proven experience in technical process management or chemistry-related fields would be advantageous.
- Ability to work dependably within cross-functional teams spanning APAC Sales Support, Supply Chain Teams from EMEA/Mexico/APAC, Procurement Team as well as IT/HR/Administrative functions.
