What you'll do:

As an Assistant Procurement Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the entire procurement process from sourcing through negotiation to inventory management. Success in this role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent interpersonal skills for nurturing supplier relationships, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You will be empowered to make impactful decisions that drive operational efficiency while upholding high standards of quality and compliance.

  • Source and procure products from a diverse range of suppliers, ensuring all purchases meet evolving business requirements while maintaining strong supplier relationships.
  • Negotiate pricing structures, rebates, payment terms, and contractual agreements with suppliers to secure favourable terms that support organisational objectives.
  • Analyse comprehensive sales data alongside seasonal market trends to accurately forecast demand and place timely orders that optimise stock levels.
  • Manage inventory across multiple categories to guarantee product availability while balancing cash flow considerations and efficient use of storage space.
  • Collaborate closely with the Sales team to ensure procurement strategies are aligned with promotional activities and shifting market demands.
  • Monitor industry developments, competitor movements, and price fluctuations to inform purchasing decisions that keep the company competitive.
  • Evaluate supplier performance on a regular basis, addressing any issues related to supply reliability or service quality promptly and effectively.
  • Ensure all procured products adhere strictly to quality standards and comply fully with relevant regulatory requirements.

What you bring:

You bring not only technical expertise but also a collaborative spirit that enables you to work harmoniously across departments. Your fluency in Mandarin and English ensures clear communication with suppliers locally and internationally. With your analytical mindset, you can interpret complex data sets to anticipate needs before they arise. Your commitment to maintaining high standards of quality is matched by your ability to build trust-based relationships both internally and externally. By leveraging your negotiation skills and attention to detail, you will help create an inclusive environment where operational efficiency thrives.

  • Demonstrated experience of 3-5 years in purchasing or procurement roles within fast-moving industries where accuracy and reliability are paramount.
  • Exceptional negotiation abilities enabling you to secure advantageous terms with suppliers while fostering positive long-term partnerships.
  • Proven track record managing high-value, high-volume procurement tasks efficiently without compromising on quality or timelines.
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities allowing you to address challenges proactively and maintain smooth operations under pressure.
  • Fluency in both Mandarin and English (written and spoken), facilitating effective communication across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Strong analytical skills for interpreting sales data, forecasting demand accurately, and making informed purchasing decisions based on market trends.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams such as Sales, ensuring procurement strategies support wider business goals.
