Save job

A leading multinational FMCG organisation is seeking a Senior Manager Demand Planning to join their pioneering team in Kuala Lumpur. This is an exceptional opportunity for you to play a pivotal role in shaping the demand planning strategy across the APAC region, consolidating regional insights into a global perspective, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

What you'll do:

As Senior Manager Demand Planning, you will be entrusted with overseeing the end-to-end demand planning process for the APAC region. Your day-to-day activities will involve close collaboration with various internal teams to ensure accurate forecasting, effective allocation decisions, and seamless integration of regional insights into global strategies. You will play an instrumental role in facilitating weekly forecast reviews, running scenario analyses to prepare for market fluctuations, and driving ongoing improvements in demand planning methodologies. By leveraging your expertise in advanced planning systems and your ability to foster alignment between short-term actions and long-term goals, you will help create robust plans that support both immediate business needs and future growth ambitions. Your success in this role will be measured by your ability to connect people across functions, champion best practices, and deliver reliable results that enhance overall supply chain performance.

  • Lead the execution of demand planning processes for the entire APAC region, ensuring that all market requirements are accurately captured and forecasted.
  • Oversee allocation decisions by collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to optimise inventory levels and product availability.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the demand planning function, identifying areas for process enhancement and implementing best practices.
  • Consolidate diverse demand signals from multiple markets into a comprehensive global view, enabling informed decision-making at all organisational levels.
  • Facilitate weekly forecasting meetings and run scenario planning exercises to anticipate market changes and align resources accordingly.
  • Enable alignment between short-term operational execution and long-term strategic planning by fostering open communication among stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, finance, and supply chain teams to ensure consensus-driven plans that support overall business objectives.
  • Utilise advanced planning systems such as SAP or Anaplan to streamline data management and reporting processes for greater efficiency.
  • Monitor key performance indicators related to demand accuracy, service levels, and inventory health, providing actionable insights for continuous improvement.

What you bring:

To excel as Senior Manager Demand Planning, you will bring substantial experience managing complex demand planning operations—ideally within multinational organisations or shared services hubs. Your background should include hands-on involvement with advanced forecasting tools like SAP or Anaplan as well as familiarity with S&OP frameworks that promote cross-team cooperation. A track record in FMCG environments will be particularly valuable given the sector’s pace and complexity. Beyond technical proficiency, your interpersonal strengths—such as empathy, clear communication, and collaborative spirit—will enable you to build trust across departments while nurturing a culture of shared achievement. Your analytical mindset ensures that you can interpret trends accurately while your openness to feedback supports ongoing professional growth. By combining these attributes with a genuine enthusiasm for being part of something new, you’ll thrive in this influential position.

  • Proven experience in demand planning within a complex organisational structure, ideally with exposure to shared services centre (SSC) environments.
  • Deep understanding of demand planning methodologies including statistical forecasting, consensus building, and scenario analysis.
  • Hands-on knowledge of advanced planning systems such as SAP or Anaplan or equivalent platforms used for data consolidation and reporting.
  • Familiarity with Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes, demonstrating an ability to facilitate cross-functional alignment.
  • Background in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry is highly desirable due to its dynamic nature and scale.
  • Enthusiasm for being part of a pioneering team where your input shapes new ways of working and drives positive change across the organisation.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an empathetic approach to stakeholder engagement, ensuring collaborative problem-solving and shared success.
  • Strong analytical abilities combined with attention to detail when interpreting large datasets or reconciling conflicting information sources.
  • Commitment to continuous learning through participation in training opportunities offered by the company.
