Supply Planning Manager(FMCG)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Supply Planning Manager within the fast moving consumer goods sector

What you'll do:

As a Supply Planning Manager (FMCG), you will be entrusted with overseeing the seamless synchronisation of demand and supply for specific product categories or SKU portfolios.

  • Synchronise demand and supply across designated product categories or SKU portfolios by executing daily, weekly, and monthly planning cycles to ensure optimal product availability at distribution centres.
  • Collaborate closely with commercial teams and distributors to maintain accurate demand plans in system planning tools, using well-founded assumptions to drive effective decision-making.
  • Work hand-in-hand with supplying countries to guarantee timely shipment documentation and compliance, as well as coordinate with forwarding agents for prompt customs clearance and delivery to distributors.
  • Optimise customer service levels while minimising costs by balancing service requirements against inventory carrying expenses throughout the supply network.
  • Utilise advanced data analytics and supply chain tools to identify potential shortages or overstocks, proactively resolving issues before they impact operations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by developing and implementing best practices related to finished goods replenishment, inventory management, system utilisation, and review of planning parameters.
  • Foster close collaboration with demand planning, production planning, transportation, warehouse operations, and customer service teams to achieve cost-effective supply planning that meets service goals and key performance indicators.
  • Drive information-based decisions by leveraging supply chain data insights to enhance overall efficiency and responsiveness within the network.

What you bring:

To excel as a Supply Planning Manager, you will bring proven experience from similar roles within consumer goods or manufacturing sectors.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent qualifications such as Engineering, Finance or Logistics is required for this role.
  • A minimum of 6-9 years’ experience in supply planning within consumer goods or manufacturing environments is essential for success.
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency with SAP/APO/PPDS/IBP tools is mandatory for managing complex planning processes effectively.
  • Experience in operations management provides valuable insight into end-to-end supply chain functions.
  • Proven ability in systems configuration and maintenance ensures smooth operation of planning platforms.
  • Strong computer literacy is necessary; particularly advanced skills in Microsoft Excel including pivot tables and macro functionality are highly desirable.
  • A track record of managing business continuity during supply disruptions or unexpected demand surges highlights your dependability under pressure.
