This organisation is a well-known consumer goods Korean company that manages cosmetics, household goods and beverages businesses. They are seeking an Assistant Supply Chain Manager to lead the demand and supply planning elements for the Malaysian market to ensure customer fulfilment is met.

About the Assistant Supply Chain Manager Role:
This position will be required to lead all demand planning activities (forecasting and ordering) of the Malaysia region, maintaining the optimum balance between service levels (stock availability), cash (stock levels) and replenishment costs as the key contact person between the company and HQ to ensure all instruction are taken accordingly

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor inventory levels and prepare monthly forecast orders to HQ, based on annual marketing and store expansion plans
• Expedite or reschedule purchase orders/shipments as needed
• Oversee order and shipment fulfilment, ensuring timely delivery to stores, and resolving issues related to undelivered goods
• Analyse product performance, market developments, and competition, recommending adjustments to the business plan
• Provide management with short-term and long-term product sales forecasts, along with special reports and analyses
• Review import and sales costs, anticipate order volumes, and propose volume adjustments
• Supervise inbound shipments and outbound allocation and deliveries
• Ensure that stock is delivered to the right stores at the right time and in the right quantity
• Evaluate sales performance and optimise inventory levels
• Track near-expiry items and provide recommendations for clearance
• Organise new arrival stock for stores to support promotions and incentive schemes
• Generate product forecasts and maintaining inventory levels

This role plays a pivotal part in managing the supply chain to meet company goals and ensuring efficient demand and supply coordination while optimising inventory management. To succeed in the Assistant Supply Chain Manager job, you will need to be hands-on and possess the ability to work effectively with senior business team leaders.

Key Requirements:

• Diploma/Bachelor's degree with a preference in supply chain management, mathematics, statistics, or engineering
• Demonstrated ability with at least three years of experience in demand management and digitisation within a global supply chain environment
• Advanced skills in Excel, performing complex quantitative analysis and utilising VBA, Query, or Power BI is a plus
• Strong critical thinking to connect organisational layers and ongoing projects/improvements
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with colleagues and management
• Proficient in data modelling and handling large datasets, developing diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytic models
• A proactive team player committed to delivering high-quality work to meet everyone's needs
• Open-minded, driving continuous improvement, and willing to challenge the status quo
