A leading communications satellite operator in Malaysia is recruiting a Head of Sales. In this exciting job, you will be responsible for leading and developing the sales strategy targeting existing and new emerging markets
About the Head of Sales Role:
Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, CEO and/or COO, you will be responsible for the sales of satellite broadcast, telecom IP and broadband solutions to clients across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.
- Build and lead an accomplished sales team to drive revenue growth through direct sales initiatives and distribution channels, accountable for revenue and profitability
- Identify potential alliance partners and develop distribution channel, including negotiation of joint ventures and contracts, establish offices in key markets and liaise with local telecom/broadcasting authorities to ensure compliance with regulations
- Work with the engineering department to ensure sales and technical teams are working in synergy
- Maintain team motivation and identify training opportunities for staff
- Develop/maintain strong relationships with existing and new clients in the broadcast, telecom and broadband sectors across the region, increase corporate profile through the participation in industry conferences, seminars, industry round-tables and exhibitions
- Maintain updated market trends, competitor activities and new technologies as well as identify potential market opportunities;
- Liaise with product development team to develop client specific solutions according to market demands and trends
To succeed in this Head of Sales role, you must be analytical and forward-thinking, look into the development of strategic marketing plans and oversee marketing initiatives in key market areas.
- Proven track record in selling satellite broadcast, IP-solutions/services and broadband services
- Established network of strong contacts and clients in the region
- At least 10 years' solid experience in the telecom, broadcasting and/or broadband industries with preference given to satellite exposure
- Experience in building and leading an aggressive customer/revenue-oriented sales team
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
- Entrepreneurial in orientation with acute business acumen
- Dynamic, result-oriented, responsible and high standards of professional integrity;
- Degree holder and above in a business or engineering discipline
- Excellent command of Bahasa Malaysia and English; with other Asian languages a definite advantage
