Sales Director (Building Materials)
Our client is seeking a commercially driven, results-oriented Sales Director experienced in managing multi-channel sales organisations—whether from the building materials sector or FMCG companies with nationwide distribution and channel management exposure.
The Sales Director will oversee sales operations across Retail (dealers/distributors) and Project (B2B/construction) channels, managing a team of more than 60 professionals nationwide. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines strategic direction with active engagement in sales execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and motivate a nationwide sales team of over 60 people to achieve sales, revenue, and profitability targets.
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies for both Retail and Project channels.
- Build strong relationships with key dealers, distributors, contractors, and developers to strengthen channel partnerships.
- Drive channel expansion and explore new business opportunities across Malaysia.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure effective pricing, promotions, and stock management.
- Foster a performance-driven culture focused on accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify growth opportunities and adjust strategies accordingly.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related discipline.
- Minimum 12 years of progressive sales experience, including at least 5 years in leadership managing large teams.
- Proven success in multi-channel sales management, preferably covering both Retail and Project/B2B environments.
- Experience in Building Materials or Construction Products is an advantage; FMCG candidates with national retail distribution and channel leadership experience are also encouraged to apply.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Hands-on, commercially astute, and capable of driving both strategy and execution.
