Our client is seeking a dynamic APAC Sales Manager to join their team in Penang.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to support the Thermal Process Management business unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for discovering and securing new project opportunities within the Asia Pacific region, strengthening relationships with existing clients, and developing new ones. This role requires a high level of collaboration, both internally and externally, and offers the chance to make a significant impact in a global company.

What you'll do:

As an APAC Sales Manager, your role will be pivotal in driving the success of our client's business within the Asia Pacific region. You will be tasked with identifying new project opportunities, managing key accounts, and fostering strong relationships with both existing and prospective clients. Your ability to educate others about TPM technologies will be crucial in this role, as you'll often find yourself presenting to large groups of engineering and plant personnel. Collaboration is key in this position; you'll work closely with various internal departments to ensure smooth project execution from proposal strategy right through to award. Additionally, you'll keep all clients updated on product modifications and enhancements.

  • Identify, train, and manage local ‘in-territory’ sales representatives.
  • Manage regional key accounts.
  • Schedule meetings and optimize travel plans based on client engagement and sales potential priority.
  • Reach out to prospective clients to understand new opportunity potential.
  • Follow up with existing clients to check on existing system performance and discover new project opportunities.
  • Educate engineering firms, end users, and system integrators about TPM technologies.
  • Prepare and execute presentations to large groups of engineering and plant personnel detailing TPM’s technologies.
  • Consult with client to clarify needs regarding scope of work, project schedule, and project specifications.
  • Collaborate internally with technical services, estimating, project engineering, and production departments to ensure appropriate proposal strategy and successful execution of a project upon award.
  • Update all clients on product modifications and enhancements.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the APAC Sales Manager position brings a wealth of experience from the refining/petrochemical, semi-conductor or offshore industry. With an Engineering Degree (preferably in Mechanical or Process Engineering), you have spent 5-7 years honing your skills and are now ready for a new challenge. Your strong writing and verbal communication skills will be put to good use as you interact with clients and colleagues alike. You're known for your excellent judgment in business situations, and your ability to maintain a client-centered focus is second to none. Your proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and client management software will be essential in this role.

  • Ability to travel at least 50% (typically two weeks every month).
  • Engineering Degree required. Mechanical or Process Engineering degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience in refining/petrochemical, semi-conductor or offshore industry.
  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective time management, organization and multi-tasking skills.
  • Demonstrate excellent judgment in business situations.
  • Maintain client-centered focus.
  • Effective with asking open-ended discovery questions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and client management software.
