What you'll do:

As a Business Development Manager, your role will be pivotal in driving the company's growth. You will focus on both acquiring new customers and nurturing current accounts, transforming leads into profitable business relationships. Your responsibilities will also include managing quotations, bids, and rate reviews, as well as providing regular updates on sales progress. You will strive to meet and exceed sales targets, keep detailed records in the CRM system, identify potential customers, negotiate terms to maximise profits, ensure timely customer follow-ups, and collaborate with customer service and operations teams.

  • Focus on acquiring new customers while also nurturing and expanding revenue opportunities from current accounts.
  • Convert a minimum number of prospects into profitable business relationships.
  • Handle the preparation of quotations, requests for quotations (RFQs), tender bids, and rate reviews.
  • Provide weekly updates on sales progress to management.
  • Meet and surpass set sales targets by generating revenue and contributing to the company's gross profit.
  • Keep detailed records in the CRM system, including customer information, sales visits, and progress.
  • Spot potential customers and identify opportunities to offer supply chain solutions that drive revenue.
  • Negotiate terms with accounts according to pricing guidelines to maximize profit margins.
  • Ensure prompt and professional follow-up on customer communications.
  • Work closely with customer service and operations teams to execute customer quotations effectively.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Business Development Manager role will bring a wealth of skills and experience. You should hold at least a Diploma in Marketing, Sales, Business Administration or a related field. A minimum of 2-3 years' experience in a similar role within the forwarding or logistics industry is essential. You must have an excellent understanding of pricing strategies and mechanisms. As a result-oriented commercial professional, you should have a proven track record of achieving significant sales results and driving business growth. A well-developed business sense is also crucial for this role.

  • Minimum Diploma in Marketing, Sales, Business Administration and Management or a discipline related to Logistics & Supply Chain Management.
  • At least 2-3 years of working experience in forwarding or logistics company in a Sales/Business Development role.
  • Excellent understanding of pricing strategies and pricing mechanisms.
  • Must be a result oriented commercial professional with a proven track record of significant sales results.
  • Well-developed business sense (Business Acumen).
