An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and committed Sales Manager to be based in Penang.

This role is central to our client's business and market potential in the region, offering the chance to help establish a regional sales/support office in Penang, Malaysia. The successful candidate will be responsible for both pre- and post-sales management, overseeing daily operations, and managing business aspects. There is also potential to develop and implement marketing strategies for ASEAN, leading to the adoption of new accounts as the business looks to significantly grow within this region.

What you'll do:

As a Sales Manager, you will play a pivotal role in establishing our client's presence in the region. You will be instrumental in supporting sales partners, managing trade show activities, organising seminars or web meetings with partners, providing market feedback, and maintaining an efficient office environment. Your leadership skills will be crucial in directing staff members and ensuring that daily operations are aligned with the company's vision.

  • Support sales partners in their efforts to grow ASEAN business and work towards the adoption of key direct accounts where necessary
  • Manage trade show activity across ASEAN with support from headquarters
  • Collaborate with partners for any regional seminars or web meetings
  • Provide general market feedback through regular meetings with headquarters
  • Maintain an organised office environment that promotes efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction
  • Direct and oversee other staff members to ensure daily operations align with the vision of the company

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Sales Manager position brings a wealth of experience in sales within the electronics industry. The candidate should possess knowledge of various business processes and functions including finance, HR, procurement, and operations. The candidate must be self-motivated with an ability to work independently while being a keen learner and a good problem solver.

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or similar) in an appropriate subject and/or several years of sales experience within the electronics industry
  • Knowledge of business processes & functions such as finance, HR, procurement, operations etc.
  • Solid PC skills using Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint
  • Financial analytics & numeracy skills
  • Good interpersonal, written & verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently
  • Keen learner and a good problem solver
  • Ability to lead & delegate responsibilities effectively as the organisation grows
