Customer Development Manager (Northern)

What you'll do:

As the Customer Development Manager for the Northern region, your primary responsibility will be achieving sustainable growth in sales, profitability, market share and product distribution. You will play a crucial role in strengthening organisational effectiveness and efficiency through developing partnerships with distributors at both store and regional levels. Your day-to-day tasks will involve conducting negotiations on new product listings, monitoring compliance of 5P activity execution against established objectives, managing distributor inventories and much more.

  • Develop and support partnerships between the company and distributors at store and regional level to achieve sales targets
  • Conduct negotiations on new product listing, planograms, displays, promotion execution etc at regional and/or store level within Malaysia
  • Work with SDM to develop tools, merchandising materials and in-store programs for effective shelf management
  • Communicate in-store objectives and monitor execution of 5P targets: product availability, assortment by store format, shelf pricing (regular and promoted), promotion implementation vs. plan, share of shelf and planogram, POP placement vs. plan
  • Monitor compliance of 5P activity execution against established agreement/objectives and tracks interim performance of 5P activities to identify shortfalls. potential upsides against established objectives
  • Conduct rigorous pre-evaluation of 5P activities using what-if analysis, and draws upon other team resources as required
  • Conduct post-evaluation analysis based on activity details and compares results with pre-evaluation analysis, explaining any potential differences
  • Manage and monitor distributors inventories and stock availability

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Customer Development Manager position will bring a wealth of experience from the FMCG industry along with strong cross-functional collaboration skills. You should have a Bachelor's degree in business-related studies or equivalent qualification. With at least five years of experience in distributor management under your belt, you'll have developed strong commercial understanding and analytical skills which will be crucial in driving executional excellence and achieving business results.
