What you'll do:
As Export Manager (FMCG), you will be entrusted with driving the company’s ambitious international agenda by developing robust market strategies tailored for rapid expansion. - Collaborate with the Export Head to jointly develop and own comprehensive international market strategies focused on accelerating growth in emerging regions while sustaining performance in established territories.
- Maintain and nurture existing customer relationships while identifying opportunities to complement them with new partnerships based on future-focused models that fill gaps in global coverage.
- Transition traditional export business models towards advanced brand management practices by working hand-in-hand with distributors to enhance in-store brand presence, inventory control, and market share.
- Implement annual and long-term export strategies by engaging key stakeholders both internally and externally to ensure alignment with organisational objectives.
- Liaise regularly with distributor partners to build a seamless export network that strengthens brand presence across multiple continents including Asia, Africa, Middle East, Europe, ANZ, and America.
- Take ownership of customer relationships by ensuring high levels of satisfaction while collaboratively building brand equity at purchase points and increasing market share in each region.
- Negotiate customer terms, manage documentation requirements, and oversee trade investments with a focus on achieving long-term profitability for owned brands while strategically utilising OEM labels as needed.
- Oversee day-to-day trading activities with foresight to anticipate potential issues before they arise and proactively resolve them to maintain smooth operations.
- Develop detailed customer account plans encompassing revenue targets, profitability goals, promotional activities, point-of-sale initiatives, and ultimate consumer engagement databases for each market.
- Stay continually informed about evolving market dynamics by analysing trends, exploiting timely opportunities for growth, and managing challenges effectively through close monitoring.
What you bring:
To excel as Export Manager (FMCG) you will bring substantial experience gained from working with prominent FMCG brands internationally ideally through distributor-led models. Your background should reflect deep familiarity with diverse regional markets such as Asia or Africa where you have successfully managed brand delivery systems amidst rapidly changing conditions. - A minimum of 5-8 years’ experience working with leading global fast moving consumer goods brands in international markets through distributor networks is essential for this position.
- Proven track record of developing business across Asia, Middle East, Africa or similar regions with hands-on knowledge of local market conditions and direct responsibility for brand delivery systems is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate, develop and implement effective systems and processes within export management functions seeing projects through from inception to cultural integration is required.
- Experience managing high-growth targets within dynamic industry settings while maintaining systematic approaches to problem-solving is important for success in this role.
- Graduate or postgraduate qualifications in relevant disciplines such as business administration or international trade are expected; additional certifications related to supply chain or marketing would be advantageous.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills enabling you to communicate persuasively across organisational boundaries while fostering co-operation among diverse teams are vital.
- Strong analytical thinking capabilities allowing you to quickly grasp new developments, analyse complex situations creatively, adapt strategies accordingly and stay ahead of competition are sought after.
- Experience negotiating commercial terms with customers including documentation handling and trade investment oversight with a focus on long-term profitability is preferred.
- Ability to build trust-based relationships both internally (with marketing/finance/operations) and externally (with distributors/customers) is critical for delivering outstanding results.
- Previous exposure to frozen foods or experience within Fortune 500 companies or Malaysian multinationals would be considered an advantage but not mandatory.
