What you'll do:

As a Government Affairs Advisor, your role will be instrumental in advancing our client's strategic goals within the automotive sector. You will be tasked with developing strategies to enhance relationships with key stakeholders such as government officials, regulators, and industry leaders. Your expertise in policy advocacy will be crucial in leading initiatives that shape government policies and industry standards. You will also monitor regulatory changes and trends, providing valuable insights to senior leadership on potential business impacts. Ensuring organisational adherence to all applicable regulations while proactively mitigating risks related to non-compliance will be part of your responsibilities. Furthermore, you will foster collaborations with industry associations and trade groups, positioning our client as an influential player shaping the future of the industry.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Government Affairs Advisor role brings a wealth of experience in government relations, regulatory affairs or external relations. With at least 10-15 years of experience under your belt, you have a proven track record in influencing policy and managing stakeholder relationships. Your strategic thinking skills are complemented by a deep understanding of complex regulatory frameworks. You possess strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, which you utilise effectively when engaging with high-level stakeholders. Your thorough knowledge of Malaysia's political, legal, and regulatory landscape is a key asset in this role.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Relations, Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 10–15 years of experience in government relations, regulatory affairs, or external relations.
  • Proven track record in influencing policy and managing stakeholder relationships.
  • Strategic thinking skills with a deep understanding of complex regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills for engaging high-level stakeholders.
