Our client is seeking a Business Development Consultant to join their dynamic team. They are a leading force in the region, committed to building sustainable and impactful organisations. Their focus is on understanding shifting dynamics, clarifying direction, and developing practical solutions for a wide range of clients. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with homegrown brands and large multinationals, building long-term partnerships where you grow and evolve together.

What you'll do:

As a Business Development Consultant, your role will be pivotal in driving the growth of our client's business. You will be responsible for researching potential leads, generating new business opportunities, delivering compelling presentations, identifying client needs, proposing tailored solutions, managing key accounts, and achieving sales targets. Your ability to build strong relationships with high-level decision makers will be crucial in securing repeat business. This role requires a strategic thinker who can work under pressure while maintaining a positive work ethic.

  • Conduct research and analysis on qualified leads and clients to identify business opportunities
  • Generate leads through cold-calling, management of website-generated leads and setting appointments with strategic decision makers
  • Assist in the market positioning of the company’s area of services based on intensive market and competitor research
  • Deliver impactful presentations to stakeholders of prospective clients
  • Accurately identify, diagnose and follow up with client needs to develop business opportunities
  • Strategically position, develop and propose solutions into meaningful conversation with prospective clients
  • Develop and customise proposals to meet prospect needs and requirements
  • Build, maintain and nurture client relationships, especially high-level decision makers (HODs & C-suite Managers), with a purpose to grow more business with those clients
  • Track and update everyday business development activities according to company’s internal systems and processes
  • Follow-up and negotiate with prospects in order to secure business

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Business Development Consultant role brings a wealth of experience in B2B business development or account management. With a degree in Business Management or related field, you have a strong foundation in consulting, HR, sustainability or strategy. Your excellent communication skills make you confident and persuasive when pitching ideas. You are self-motivated, able to meet deadlines and achieve KPIs. Your strong analytical and strategic thinking skills set you apart, and your ability to work independently or as part of a team demonstrates your flexibility. Above all, you are resourceful, driven and thrive under pressure.

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business Management related field
  • Minimum 2-year experience in B2B business development or account management roles
  • Experience in either consulting, HR, sustainability or strategy related industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Confident, sociable, and persuasive when pitching ideas
  • Self-motivated in meeting deadlines and achieving KPIs
  • Able to work under minimum supervision
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
  • Independent, yet able to work in teams with positive work ethics.
  • Resourceful, driven and have an ability to work under pressure
