They are expanding their APAC business and scaling it rapidly, with Malaysia playing a critical role. They are looking for an enthusiastic Head of Sales to lead their Sales team in Malaysia. This role offers the opportunity to develop assigned offline retail channels and accounts, establish strong engagement with various functions at retailers, and drive business growth.

What you'll do:

As the Head of Sales, you will be at the forefront of our client's expansion in the APAC region. You will have the responsibility of developing assigned offline retail channels and accounts in Malaysia. Your role will involve regular store visits to build engagement with retail salespersons, establishing strong relationships across various functions at retailers. You will also be responsible for end-to-end account management for appointed Key Accounts. Your ability to drive business growth through monitoring purchase orders, AR collection, Channel inventory, Sell-out, and Product mix will be crucial. You will also be expected to consistently update on market inside information and competitor activity/pricing updates.

  • Develop assigned offline retail channels and accounts in Malaysia
  • Conduct regular store visits to build engagement and mindshare with retail salespersons
  • Establish strong engagement with various functions at retailers for smooth business relationships
  • Provide end-to-end account management for appointed Key Accounts
  • Drive and monitor purchase orders, AR collection, Channel inventory, Sell-out, and Product mix
  • Consistently update on market Inside and competitor activity/pricing updates
  • Achieve monthly and quarterly targets and exceed objectives
  • Hold internal cadence - weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual business management timings
  • Plan national promotional calendars, review demand planning and work with the Marketing team to plan and optimize channel marketing spending
  • Responsible for product launches, phase-in/out, and range selection

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Head of Sales role will bring a wealth of experience and a proven track record in sales functions within multinational consumer goods companies or established small domestic appliance companies. You will have at least 5 years of experience in account management and a demonstrated ability to establish solid rapport with key clients. Your exceptional customer service aptitude, communication, and presentation skills will be crucial in this role. Proficiency in negotiation techniques and a knack for closing deals are also essential. A deep understanding of product development and technical aspects, along with operational experience in product launch, will set you apart.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant discipline
  • More than 10 years of experience in sales functions within multinational consumer goods companies or established small domestic appliance companies
  • At least 5 years of experience in account management and proven track record in sales management
  • Experience dealing with Electrical Retailers, Pure Play/Online Retailers, Grocers, and Specialist Retailers
  • Deep understanding of product development and technical aspects, with operational experience in product launch
  • Demonstrated ability to establish solid rapport with key clients, and manage multiple client accounts simultaneously
  • Effective negotiation skills to drive business growth
  • Exceptional customer service aptitude, communication, and presentation skills
  • Proficient in negotiation techniques and adept at closing deals
  • Strong analytical, financial management capabilities
