An exciting Sales Manager (Chemical Trading) job has become available at an integrated petrochemical firm.
About the Sales Manager (Chemical Trading) Role: In this business critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing the chemical product (trading) business in China and Taiwan to ensure that all activities and plans are executed and implemented. You will also ensure that all sales targets are being achieved in the assigned sales territory.
Key Responsibilities:
Formulate strategies and coordinate company sales and marketing functions of the chemical market to achieve the targeted sales volume and margin
Develop pricing strategies, oversee product development, and monitor industry trends that indicate the need for new products and services
Lead the development and management of global market analysis for the relevant chemical products to facilitate the formulation of the Company's strategies and competitive positioning
Undertake and interpret market intelligence and report competitor activities and market trends to facilitate marketing planning strategy and management decision-making
Develop and gather marketing and sales documentation as key inputs to facilitate decision making in negotiation with existing buyers as well in sales and purchase agreement negotiation with potential buyers
Conduct effective negotiation with potential clients and other departments (Finance and Operations/Logistics) to ensure deals and transactions are properly concluded to avoid operational problems and limited financial exposures through a sound and comprehensive understanding of operations and their implications
Evaluate marketing and sale activity of the company's group product within the price structure, contribution and contractual as per established or agreed with a plan by the company/HOD to achieve sales targets and profitability
Develop annual departmental marketing plan via collaboration with other departments (Business Development and Finance) to meet the company's business objectives. Perform territory analysis/SWOT analysis to plan for sales penetration
The successful Sales Manager (Chemical Trading) has key experience within the chemical industry as well as the connection with the relevant segments (China and Taiwan Market).
Key Requirements:
At least a university degree in the relevant field of business studies
At least four years' relevant experience in the sales function with leadership capacity. Experience of at least five years in the trading/distribution industry is a plus point
Experience managing a sales function and complete cycle of sales activities from prospecting, selling, closing sales, planning for continuous improvement/ analysis, customer relationship management
Ability to strategise and solve problems using a creative and innovative mindsetStrong leadership and organisational skills such as excellent communication, collaboration and motivation skills
Business acumen and with entrepreneurship self-driven motivation
Having built up its network of counterparties over the years is preferable but not essential
Articulate, carry self well, and present effectively and convincingly to management/customers
