About the Business Development Manager (Packaging) Role: In this business critical role, you will be responsible for the continued growth of sales and account operating profitability within the country. You will also take the lead providing direction to all sales and marketing-related activities.
Prospect for new business activity across the territory exploiting the product portfolio within the speciality packaging division developing new sales in line with budget and supporting margins
Ensure timely and relative collation of management information including sales reporting
Use marketing support team to assist in prospecting for new business/leads
Manage annual sales goals and projections for the designated geography
Understand and support the company's sales policies and procedures to ensure the proper and effective treatment of the company's customers
Direct and administer dealer promotions to promote sales and maintain favourable relations
Visit potential dealers to qualify them as sales prospects for the corporation
Relate new product ideas, promotional ideas and product extensions to marketing management for evaluation
To succeed in this Business Development Manager (Packaging) role, you must drive the sales activity in promoting and prospecting the product offerings to achieve maximum profitable sales potential in line with the pre-determined budgets.
Degree in a business, science, or technical-related discipline
Ideally has print or packaging technical experience
Highly motivated, driven self-starter
Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, written, verbal and formal presentation skills
Able to influence with the ability to drive ideas forward
Sound commercial skills with the ability to understand detailed costings, estimates, etc.
Flexibility to travel as the demands of the role required
Experienced and proven account management record
Determined with a will to succeed, tenacious
Strong interpersonal, intercultural and relationship skills
Analytical skills combined with an inquisitive nature, strong learning agility and a proactive hands-on approach
Strong record in delivering substantial growth experience
Good project management, organisational and planning skills
