A Business Development Manager (Electrical) job has become available at a market leader in electrical solutions to join the team in Malaysia.

About the Business Development Manager (Electrical) Role:
In this business critical role, you will be responsible for creating end-user acceptance and specification offering within the target segment(s), driving and implementing marketing and sales activities for the selected market segment(s) in line with the agreed strategy and working with key external influencers to educate, inform and solicit support for new ventures and technical developments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implementing and reviewing target segment(s) strategies with country-specific action plans
  • Achieving key targets (e.g. volume, price, and mix) for the segment(s) in the specified market. Creating detailed business plans, implements with regular follow-up
  • Monitoring market trends and recommending adjustments for the strategy and planning accordingly to meet changing market and competitive landscapes Providing appropriate market information for long- to mid-term decision making
  • Communicating the end user value proposition for the target segment (internally and externally). Supporting local sales organisation to have an effective perception in the target segment(s)
  • Ensuring the major accounts in the segment(s) are identified and prioritised
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with the key customers in the target segment. Following up on performance in fulfilling their needs and communicating deficiencies and/or opportunities to the respective business units/product groups
  • Reporting by segment to accurately measure progress and uses common tools to identify future opportunities

The successful Business Development Manager (Electrical) must have prior B2B sales preferably within the electrical segment.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
  • More than five years of experience in the relevant field
  • Strong background and understanding of engineering is preferred
  • Good negotiation, presentation and communication skills, positive attitude, team player and self-motivated
