Head of Business Development (FMCG)

An exciting Head of Business Development (FMCG) job has just become available at one of the most respected global FMCG firms based in Malaysia. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this is a role for a head of department who is a leader in their field.

About the Head of Business Development (FMCG) Role:
In this business critical role, you will be responsible for handling important client accounts. The role must build and maintain a strong relationship with the client and be the lead point of contact for all key client matters, by anticipating the client’s needs, working within the company to ensure deadlines for the client are met, and helping the client to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with the General Manager in managing customers and drive the business to deliver budget targets for key financial metrics, optimising channels mix to continue to develop a more client-centric model
• Lead the commercial team and support marketing team to implement strategy and develop brands with relevance in the right channels and towards the right target audience
• Set targets and KPI's for the commercial team, analyse sales and proactively recommend actions plans to be implemented
• Develop relationships with customers, key accounts to build advocacy for the brands
• Drive value, by continuously optimising channel and product mix, value chains and commercial agreements (customers margins, trade offers, rebates and incentives)
• Identify, attract and develop talents to develop commercial excellence and set the team up for long term success
• Lead by example, represent the company and be an ambassador of the group values

To succeed in this Head of Business Development (FMCG) role, you must be numerically strong, possess outstanding strategic thinking abilities and strong experience in key account management.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing or Business Administration, or similar
• Minimum of eight years of work experience in key account management in the FMCG industry
• Good communication and presentation skills, with strong command of English
• Good analytical, organisation and project management skills, and a positive work attitude
• Good understanding of research and able to work independently
