What you'll do:
As Key Account Manager – Consumer Electronics, you will be entrusted with developing strategic relationships across Malaysia’s retail landscape. Your day-to-day responsibilities will centre around nurturing key accounts through regular engagement—both in-store and via structured business reviews—while collaborating cross-functionally with retailer teams to ensure smooth operations. You will act as the primary contact for your accounts, supporting them from initial onboarding through ongoing management of orders, inventory levels, promotions, and product launches. Success in this role hinges on your ability to translate market insights into actionable strategies that drive revenue growth while maintaining high standards of service. By consistently meeting targets and proactively identifying new opportunities for collaboration or optimisation, you will help shape the future trajectory of the brand’s presence in Malaysia.
- Develop assigned offline retail channels and accounts across Malaysia, ensuring robust engagement and sustainable growth.
- Conduct quarterly business reviews with key accounts to assess performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and strengthen long-term partnerships.
- Regularly visit stores to foster positive relationships with retail salespersons, enhancing product mindshare and brand presence at the point of sale.
- Collaborate closely with retailer functions including operations, finance, marketing, and stock-on-hand teams to ensure seamless business processes and mutual success.
- Serve as the single point of contact for all business-related requirements for appointed key accounts, providing dependable support throughout the partnership lifecycle.
- Drive and monitor purchase orders, accounts receivable collection, channel inventory levels, sell-out rates, and product mix optimisation to achieve business objectives.
- Provide consistent updates on market insights as well as competitor activity and pricing trends to inform strategic decision-making.
- Achieve monthly and quarterly targets by executing effective business management routines aligned with internal cadence requirements.
- Lead business planning activities including national promotional calendars, demand planning reviews, and collaboration with marketing teams to optimise channel marketing spend.
- Oversee product launches, phase-in/phase-out processes, range selection decisions, and analyse sales trends in partnership with regional sales/product teams.
What you bring:
To excel as Key Account Manager – Consumer Electronics you will bring substantial experience from roles involving sales or account management within fast-moving consumer goods or technology sectors. - Minimum 5–8 years’ experience in sales, key account management or e-commerce within consumer goods, appliances or lifestyle technology sectors is essential for success in this role.
- Comprehensive understanding of profit & loss statements, margin structures, pricing strategies and trade spend return on investment is required to manage commercial aspects effectively.
- Demonstrated track record managing online marketplace accounts such as Lazada, Shopee or Amazon; skilled in conversion rate optimisation, traffic generation and CRM enhancement.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and data analytics tools; able to interpret performance data accurately and translate findings into actionable recommendations for account growth.
- Confident negotiator capable of handling complex commercial terms discussions with senior stakeholders at partner organisations.
- Hands-on approach with proven ability to execute strategies from planning stage through implementation at shelf or listing page level.
- Exceptional communication skills enabling effective cross-functional collaboration across marketing, supply chain and finance departments.
- Ability to thrive in a high-growth entrepreneurial environment characterised by rapid change and ambitious targets.
- Strong presentation skills; fluency in English is mandatory while proficiency in Mandarin or Bahasa is considered advantageous.
- Previous experience working within companies specialising in consumer electronics or small domestic appliances is highly desirable.
