What you'll do:

As Senior Key Account Manager you will play an integral part in driving commercial success for innovative period care products throughout Malaysia’s Modern Trade landscape. Your day-to-day will involve nurturing relationships with key retail partners while developing strategic plans that boost sales growth across various categories. You will be responsible for executing impactful promotions that enhance product visibility in stores while tracking performance metrics against forecasts. By leveraging your negotiation skills you will secure optimal terms for displays and pricing support. Collaboration is central to this role; you’ll work hand-in-hand with trade marketing teams to ensure flawless execution at store level while partnering with supply chain experts to maintain robust inventory levels. Your ability to expand distribution through new listings will help scale the brand’s footprint sustainably. Success in this position means being proactive in identifying risks such as underperforming SKUs or gaps in distribution—and proposing solutions that keep momentum strong. You’ll also contribute your expertise during strategy discussions aimed at continuous improvement of sales processes.

  • Own and manage assigned Modern Trade key accounts as the primary point of contact, ensuring seamless communication and relationship building with retail partners.
  • Drive sales growth, distribution expansion, and velocity uplift across multiple accounts, categories, and SKUs by implementing effective strategies tailored to each partner.
  • Develop, plan, and execute rolling 6 to 12 month promotional activities including displays and activations in partnership with retailers to maximise product visibility and engagement.
  • Track and manage sales actuals versus forecast versus budget at account, category, and SKU level to ensure targets are met or exceeded consistently.
  • Lead negotiations on promotional mechanics, display placements, pricing support, and retailer programmes to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes for all stakeholders.
  • Monitor sell-out performance, promotional uplift, and return on investment using data-driven insights to inform future planning and optimise results.
  • Ensure strong on-shelf availability by collaborating closely with sales operations, supply chain teams, trade marketing professionals, and retail partners.
  • Drive new SKU listings and door expansion within existing Modern Trade partners while supporting new account or channel openings for successful launches.
  • Work cross-functionally with Trade Marketing and Merchandising teams to guarantee timely execution of displays, POSMs, promo price tags, and store-level standards.
  • Partner with Supply Chain & Finance on demand planning (S&OP), order fulfilment processes, debit note reconciliation, TTA management, and claims resolution.

  • 5-10 years of experience in FMCG sales or Modern Trade key account management roles within Malaysia’s retail sector is essential for success in this position.
  • Demonstrated track record managing Modern Trade retailers in Malaysia including hands-on experience with promo planning, display negotiations, and sell-out management.
  • Excellent negotiation skills combined with clear communication abilities enable you to build trust-based relationships with internal stakeholders as well as external partners.
  • A teachable spirit is critical; your willingness to learn ensures you can pull the biggest levers for growth while adapting quickly to new challenges or feedback.
