This is a unique opportunity for you to take ownership of the end-to-end strategy for a thriving D2C ecommerce channel, shaping platform strategies and optimising the consumer journey to deliver sustainable, profitable growth. The role offers the chance to work at the forefront of digital commerce, leveraging data insights and collaborating across multiple functions to drive business success.

What you'll do:

As an Ecommerce Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the client's D2C ecommerce operations. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve managing high-impact relationships with online marketplace partners, crafting bespoke strategies that cater to each platform's unique strengths. You will be entrusted with optimising every aspect of the digital sales funnel—from pricing models to promotional campaigns—ensuring maximum visibility and conversion at every touchpoint. By working collaboratively with various departments, you will help remove barriers to execution while driving alignment towards shared business objectives. Your ability to interpret data trends will be crucial in identifying new growth opportunities and refining ongoing initiatives. Ultimately, your efforts will directly contribute to strengthening brand equity among D2C consumers while delivering on ambitious financial targets.

  • Lead and nurture strategic partnerships with major online marketplaces by developing tailored joint business plans that align with overall business objectives.
  • Identify new avenues for growth by analysing data insights and leveraging innovative platform features to stay ahead in the competitive ecommerce landscape.
  • Optimise pricing strategies, promotional activities, product assortment, and portfolio segmentation to enhance visibility and conversion rates across all digital channels.
  • Oversee inventory management processes to guarantee product availability while minimising stockouts or overstock situations.
  • Collaborate with marketing, offline sales, supply chain, and finance teams to ensure cohesive execution of campaigns and initiatives that support business goals.
  • Strengthen brand equity among D2C shoppers by implementing effective brand-building tactics tailored to local market needs.
  • Develop comprehensive local ecommerce strategies and operational plans that drive both short-term wins and long-term sustainability.
  • Own key financial metrics such as revenue targets, conversion rates, and other critical KPIs by monitoring performance data and making informed adjustments as needed.
  • Utilise internal and external analytics tools to translate complex data into actionable commercial improvements that boost overall channel performance.
  • Champion best practices in consumer journey optimisation while leading benchmarking exercises against competitors and spearheading capability-building projects within the team.

What you bring:

To excel as an Ecommerce Manager in this role, you will bring extensive experience from senior positions within sales or ecommerce environments—ideally gained from working with leading brands or retailers. Your background should reflect a deep understanding of how digital channels operate at scale; you are comfortable navigating complex negotiations with marketplace partners while also being adept at interpreting large volumes of performance data. Your interpersonal skills will enable you to foster strong connections across diverse teams—ensuring everyone is aligned towards common goals. In addition to technical proficiency in areas like pricing optimisation and inventory management, your approach should be rooted in empathy for both colleagues and customers alike. A commitment to continuous learning—whether through formal training or informal knowledge sharing—will set you apart as someone who not only delivers results but also uplifts those around them.

  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in sales, key account management, or ecommerce roles within fast-moving consumer goods or related industries is essential for success in this position.
  • Demonstrated expertise in direct-to-consumer (D2C) digital sales environments, including hands-on experience with pricing strategies, promotions planning, negotiation tactics, and portfolio management.
  • A proven track record of consistently delivering growth through data-driven decision-making within dynamic commercial settings.
  • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to translate complex datasets into actionable insights that inform strategic direction.
  • Strong interpersonal skills enabling effective collaboration across marketing, sales, supply chain, finance, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Experience developing joint business plans (JBPs) with online marketplace partners that result in mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Deep understanding of consumer journey optimisation techniques as well as best practices in ecommerce execution.
  • Capability to manage inventory efficiently while balancing availability against cost considerations.
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting findings clearly to stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • A passion for continuous improvement demonstrated through participation in benchmarking exercises or capability-building initiatives.
