Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Key Account Manager to help grow their consumer business in Malaysia. This role offers the opportunity to develop and execute business plans, manage trade investments, and implement in-store promotions and merchandising activities.

What you'll do:

As a Key Account Manager, you will play a pivotal role in growing the consumer business in Malaysia. Your primary responsibility will be developing and executing consumer business plans to ensure the profitability of the company. You will also be accountable for achieving sales targets of assigned customers, managing trade investment, and implementing in-store promotion and merchandising activities. Your ability to negotiate effectively with key accounts, implement trade promotion strategies, and maintain high brand visibility will be crucial to your success in this role.

  • Manage and achieve aggressive sales growth targets with the assigned key accounts
  • Ensure the profitability and growth of the assigned key accounts through effective management
  • Develop key accounts through joint business planning and execution of marketing & promotional plan
  • Conduct negotiations with assigned key accounts and implement trade promotion cycle strategies
  • Achieve high brand visibility and full distribution of products in assigned key accounts
  • Manage total trade spend in assigned accounts to target investment levels
  • Monitor promotional effectiveness, analyse ROI and adjust plans accordingly
  • Establish close liaison with Product/Brand management to explore new products and other business opportunities

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Key Account Manager position brings a wealth of experience from the FMCG sector. With at least 5 years of experience managing major customers/accounts, you have proven your ability to drive growth and profitability. Your strong analytical skills enable you to monitor promotional effectiveness, analyse ROI, and adjust plans as necessary. Your leadership abilities allow you to manage a team effectively, ensuring that high professional standards are achieved. Additionally, your excellent communication skills enable you to build rapport with key accounts and gain valuable market insights.

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree required
  • At least 5 years of work experience in managing a major customer/account from FMCG sector
  • Experience in trade operations and category development or marketing is an advantage
  • Strong analytical skills and leadership abilities are essential
  • Ability to improve continuously with creative and resourceful problem solving
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) in English
