An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior Purchaser to join a leading organisation in Kuala Lumpur. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is looking to take their career to the next level. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating new product proposals, conducting market surveys, managing inventory, and negotiating with suppliers.

What you'll do:

As a Junior Purchaser, your role will be pivotal in driving the success of the procurement department. You'll be involved in every step of the procurement process, from coordinating new product proposals to ensuring timely delivery from suppliers. Your excellent communication skills will be put to good use as you negotiate prices and maintain close relationships with key suppliers. Additionally, your ability to adapt quickly to evolving industry trends and company processes will be crucial in this role.

  • Coordinate new product proposals and manage reordering processes
  • Conduct price comparisons through market surveys
  • Monitor warehouse and outlet inventory levels
  • Ensure timely delivery from suppliers
  • Monitor sales performance of products
  • Negotiate prices, quantities, and delivery timescales with suppliers
  • Provide support to counterparts and maintain close communication with key suppliers
  • Identify suitable suppliers or manufacturers for sourcing needs
  • Prepare routine reports and handle any ad-hoc reporting requirements

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Junior Purchaser role is someone who brings a blend of strong communication skills, adaptability, and efficient task management abilities. Your excellent command of English will enable you to effectively communicate with various stakeholders, while your ability to work both independently and within a team will ensure smooth operations. Your proficiency in computer skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, will aid you in preparing reports and presentations. A willingness to travel when required is also essential.

  • Possession of at least a Degree or Diploma in any field
  • 1-2 years of relevant working experience
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to receive and convey information clearly and accurately
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Adaptability to quickly evolving industry trends and company processes
  • Efficient task management and prioritisation skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Proficiency in computer skills including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Willingness to travel when required
