Our client is on the hunt for a dynamic Key Account Manager to spearhead their sales strategies and drive revenue growth within the convenience store chain and petrol mart sectors. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a team in identifying new business opportunities, fostering strong relationships with key accounts and retail partners, and working closely with internal departments to align efforts with client goals.

What you'll do:

As a Key Account Manager, you will be at the forefront of driving our client's revenue growth within the convenience store chain and petrol mart sectors. Your role will involve leading a team in identifying new business opportunities, fostering strong relationships with key accounts, and collaborating closely with internal departments. You will be responsible for developing effective sales strategies, analysing sales statistics, maintaining accurate records, negotiating sales agreements, providing exceptional customer service, communicating effectively across departments, and motivating your team.

  • Develop sales strategies to increase market penetration in convenience stores and petrol marts
  • Identify and prioritise key accounts and retail partners, building and maintaining relationships to drive sales and secure promotional opportunities
  • Analyse sales statistics to assess potential for business growth
  • Maintain accurate records of all pricing, sales, and activity reports
  • Collaborate with Branding & Marketing to develop promotional strategies to stimulate sales
  • Establish strong relationships with key convenience store and petrol mart accounts and retail partners
  • Negotiate sales agreements, contracts, and terms ensuring alignment with company objectives
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all customers and key stakeholders
  • Communicate with Logistics and Warehouse & Production functions to work out demand forecasts
  • Provide ongoing training and motivation to sales team

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Key Account Manager position brings a wealth of experience in Sales roles within the FMCG industry. You are customer-focused, results-driven, knowledgeable in planning, executing and coordinating sales initiatives. Your excellent verbal and written communication skills will enable you to negotiate effectively while maintaining strong relationships with clients. Your ability to demonstrate initiative in a fast-paced environment coupled with your excellent interpersonal skills will make you stand out. A strong understanding of current trends in sales management is essential.

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Business, Marketing or equivalent
  • Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in a Sales role (preferably in FMCG industry)
  • Customer-focused approach
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledgeable in planning, executing and coordinating sales initiatives
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for client communication
  • Strong understanding of current trends in sales management
