What you'll do:

As a Business Development Manager (Coating), you will play a pivotal role in growing the coating business through the development of new leads and contacts. You will be responsible for tracking, identifying, and adding qualified prospects to the sales pipeline. Your role will involve close collaboration with technical marketing, material science, particularly Polymer & Industry market management department to develop opportunities in Material Science markets. You will also coordinate with sales teams to develop mutually beneficial proposals while nurturing and developing relationships with key customers.

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in Material Science for coating
  • Work closely with technical marketing, material science, and industry market management departments
  • Coordinate with sales teams to develop mutually beneficial proposals
  • Nurture and develop relationships with key customers
  • Manage projects by coordinating with different departments in customer organisations
  • Achieve agreed targets on new business developments by expanding market penetration & increasing market share
  • Plan out customer visits independently
  • Monitor, update, and submit reports of competitors and keep records in CRM of existing and prospective customers

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Business Development Manager (Coating) position will bring a wealth of Sales and Marketing experience from the Material Science industry. You will have a proven track record in a similar business development role within the relevant industry. Your practical communication skills will enable you to build long-standing and successful relationships with customers. You will have the ability to adapt and develop solutions to customers’ needs with clear and decisive communication. Your strong collaboration, negotiation, persuasion skills, research & strategic analysis skills, and project management skills will be key to your success in this role.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Science, Chemistry, or any related field
  • At least 5 years of Sales and Marketing experience in Material Science industry
  • Proven track record in business development role into relevant industry
  • Practical communication skills to build long-standing and successful relationships with customers
  • Ability to adapt and develop solutions to customers’ needs with clear and decisive communication
  • Strong Collaboration, negotiation, persuasion skills
  • Strong research & strategic analysis skills and project management skills
  • High competency working with Microsoft office
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
