What you'll do:

As a Key Account Manager for Power Utilities, you will play a pivotal role in developing strong customer relationships and driving sales performance. You will be responsible for planning and employing effective strategies to maximise customer engagement. Your role will also involve conducting market intelligence to stay ahead of competitors. You will supervise sales performance within corporate guidelines while also completing strategic customer account plans. Understanding the tender process in various sectors is crucial for this role. You will provide direction and set targets to grow sales in your assigned vertical segment.

  • Plan and employ an effective approach to customer coverage, penetration, development and consolidation
  • Regularly visit customers and nurture relationships while identifying business opportunities
  • Manage buyer's expectations and promote joint marketing activities
  • Conduct market intelligence, monitor competitors' strategies and formulate counter strategies
  • Supervise and motivate sales performance within corporate guidelines
  • Complete strategic customer account plans that meet company standards
  • Understand the tender process in Utility, Oil & Gas, as well as Government projects
  • Provide direction and targets to grow sales in assigned vertical segment

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Key Account Manager position brings a wealth of experience from the power utilities sector. With a degree in Engineering or Sales and Marketing or Business-related studies, you have built up sufficient contacts within utility companies in Malaysia. Your experience includes at least five years in a relevant field with three years spent in a managerial role. You have proven your ability to establish and maintain long-term sales relationships. Your excellent presentation, negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills will be key to your success in this role.

  • Degree in Engineering or Sales and Marketing or Business-related studies
  • Experience within utility transmission, distribution and generation industry
  • Contacts with utility companies in Malaysia
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience within power utilities industry
  • Ability to establish and maintain long term sales relationships
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Command of English and Bahasa Melayu both spoken and written with strong communication skills
