An exciting Sales Manager (Coating) job has become available at a global integrated chemical distributor firm.
About the Sales Manager (Coating) Role: In this business critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing the chemical coating business objectives to ensure that all activities and plans are executed and implemented. You will also ensure that all sales targets are being achieved in the assigned sales territory.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a sales strategy to achieve company sales targets and objectives in the coating industry
Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team to achieve their individual and team goals
Identify and target new business opportunities, customers, and markets to expand our presence in the coating industry
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers, partners, and suppliers
Collaborate with the marketing team to create and execute marketing campaigns to support sales efforts
Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities
Prepare and present regular sales reports and forecasts to the senior management team
Ensure the team follows best practices for customer relationship management (CRM) and sales processes
Oversee the negotiation and closing of sales contracts, agreements, and deals
Monitor and analyse sales performance metrics and make data-driven decisions to improve sales strategies
The successful Sales Manager (Coating) must have key experience in selling raw materials chemical to the coating industry as well as the connection with the relevant segments.
Key Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in chemistry, science or any related discipline
At least five years of chemicals or ingredients sales experience in the coatings industry
Experience with surfactant selling or hands-on experience in emulsion polymerisation segment is an added advantage
Proven track record as a results-oriented sales professional
Good interpersonal and communication skills and customer-oriented
Works independently with minimum supervision
Committed to excellence and self-initiative
Excellent business/commercial acumen
Coatings industry/market know-how
Possesses own transport and willing to travel
