A Merchandiser (Retail) job has become available at a global retailer as a result of ongoing and continued successes within Malaysia.
About the Merchandiser (Retail) Role:
Reporting to the Merchandising Manager, this is a role for aspiring individuals passionate about buyer/category management functions in a fashion retail industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review weekly trading performance and achieved KPIs, identifying issues and the course of action in preparation for the weekly trading meetings
- Propose and agree actions to recover risk and maximise opportunities with the buyer at category and line level
- Forecast any sales variance to plan, creations of OTB
- Manage commitments – on-time delivery, rebuy cancellations
- Attend selection/pre-selection meetings with the buyers and suppliers
- Plan the pre-scheduling to meet the range plan – in conjunction with assistant merchandisers
- Oversee the ratios for all buys in conjunction with assistant merchandiser
To succeed in this Merchandiser (Retail) position, you must be numerically and analytically sound.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum of four years' work experience in a buying/merchandising function in the retail industry, preferably in fashion retail
- Good communication and presentation skills, with strong command of English
- Good analytical, organisational and project management skills, and has a positive work attitude
